I'm a huge fan of Bon Iver. Goosebumps and everything.. Here is one for the fellow-Bon Iver lovers that I hadn't heard yet: You can't make me love you.
And a golden oldie, one of my favourities:
&my favroutie video:
all credit to that one goes to the fantastic blogotheque (take away show)
So I thought I would do this blog thing a different way/ To learn how to blog more regularly, I'm blogging about the things I love. &Music is one of the biggest ones. Maybe I'll even learn to dsicover more :).
Yesterday I was fed up with my cravings! &I feel it's difficult (+ expensive) to cook for one. So I went to my mum's &I cooked for her! I made her chicken tortilla's with green peppers. Great skinny food!
ancho chile powder or chipotle chili powder, to taste
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp olive oil
4 low fat, low carb tortillas (La Tortilla Factory)
First you squeeze a lime in a bowl, season with chile powder, salt, pepper, garlic and some cumin. Marinate the chicken with this mixture! Grill the ckicken until it's browned, but not hard. Then season the onion and the pepper with salt and pepper and toss with olive oil. Grill them until they are tender (according to the website this takes about 15min, but it took me less). Cut the chicken into slices and combine the two. But them on the tortilla with some toppings of choice (I used some feta-cheese, my mum preferred Greek Yoghurt).
&Bon appetit!
What's great about skinnytaste.com is that it tells you the numbers as well (without the toppings ofcourse):
Calories: 192.1 • Fat: 5.5 g •Carb: 16.7g• Fiber: 8.3g •Protein: 25.5g
Shopping for the food, cooking, washing the dishing + a skinny meal is definitly a winning combination to lose some weight!
Also, when you live alone and you don't have that much time to cook every day (like me), this is a great way to make it work! When you have some time to cook (like on a rainy sunday), prepare a little more: more dishes, more servings. Select recipes that you can easily tripple of dubble. You can also pack your leftovers for lunch! That way, you won't have to fall back on take-out meals that a full of fat (and it will save you some money too!).
I have a few pounds that I should lose! Because I want that stomach!
Trying hard for a couple of months & it is working. But there are these days that I want to eat sooo badly &they come in package deals! When I start eating on monday, it's the same on tuesday, wednesday, .. Untill the next monday, if I'm very lucky.. Now I'm like: NO! I feel that I want to eat soo badly (cheese, chips, cookies, ..) but I'm looking for healthy alternatives. Not just vegetables or fruit, but things that I have to make. Who's got recipes for me?
I found this fantastic website: http://www.skinnytaste.com/ . I think they will help me a long way! Any more ideas?
Since the rain won't stop in Belgium (while the South of Europe has a heat-wave & Amerika hasn't seen rain for too long), I started practicing my nailpolishing skills.. Here is some inspiration I've found and I love! Want some more? Follow me on Pinterest.com (Elke Sanders is my name)!
When my own nails get pretty, I'll upload some pictures! Love x
For those who are interested: I'm opening a new blog about my newly found single-life. I'm not sure how long it is gonna last, because this one should stay the most important.
But if you are interested: http://singletetu.blogspot.be/
Hey loved ones!
Yesterday was my twentieth birthday and I spend it at the wonderful Rotterdam! I have enjoyed it, but the weather was not that great.. Rotterdam is absolutely beautiful! I love it, really want to go back too :).
I saw the exhibition of Arne Quinze (my safe garden & my stilthouse) at the Kunsthal! Loved it! Very confronting, almost scary, but definitely worth it! 11€ entrance, but loads to see. For students younger than 26 it's only 5.5€!
Now the scary part: i spend an entire day in Rotterdam and i did NOT shop for clothes! So, i should definitely return there this summer to make up for that!
Today is a lazy day, im probably going to the library this afternoon to do some research or something. Without the sun, summer seems less exciting.. If you have any tips for a low budget trip or a holiday at home, please let me know!
Hey guys,
My experiment with pinterest is not going that well. I blame it in my iPod! Maybe i should use my laptop to try more..
Pinterest.com is a site you use to 'pin' those things that inspire you.. &you can follow other people that may inspire you! Follow me on pinterest: my profile is called MadameTetu!
You can make different maps with certain subjects to make things easier to find. And that is part of my problem: when you make an account you can chose names for your maps.. But i dont know how to change them! I think its my ipod, but if you have some tips, them are allways welcome!
FTW my birthday is tomorrow!
I'll try to keep you posted! (& sorry for spelling errors, im still getting used to autocorrection)
I'm very sorry about my absence. I Hade a rough time, with the exams & the break up, so I did kinda leave you guys hanging. Even when the blog turned one month old! So, I'm sorry about that..
However, I did have a lot of time to think &I have desided that I want this blog to become a lifestyle thing! Everything I like in life should be here! Not like a diary (well, maybe a little), but more like an inspiration/memory-scrapbook.. I'm sooo looking forward to it! If you guys have some tips ors, please DO let me know!
I sooo love this song! (Postcards from Italy - Beirut). With my last exam coming up (tomorrow!), I'm allmost on vacation! &This tune is perfect to make plans! (Also: Nantes - Beirut & The Elephant Gun - Beirut are amazing! Check them out!
The day after tomorrow - wednesday that is, there's a mini-festival starting at my howetown. & The weather seems promising! Thursday would be hot (28°C), so maybe I'll drop the music that day and go swimming!
Talking about swimming: I've found the most drop-dead-gorgeous bathingsuit EVER! If someone finds something like this, not too expensive (this one is about 90€!!, so I really would love something cheaper), PLEASE TELL ME!
Euhmm, There is too much I want to tell you guys about, even during exams my head is still running (with loads and loads of ideas!) I've bought a second hand Ipod Touch (very pleased about it too!), that helps me to keep track with everything! &I'm planning to (re)visit this huge-giant-enormous second hand book store in Brussels, because last time I went, I was completely overwhelmed! &I should be buying CD's about this time, but too little money & too many party's coming up!
Anyways, sweeties, Love you all! See you soon! (Follow me with Bloglovin!)
Hi guys, I'm sorry, I ain't got that much to tell you.. I spend the last couple of days with my parents, so I wouldn't be alone in the apartement full of memories. Today I'm going back there, so wish me luck! I'm keeping myself busy with studying for the exams that are coming up.. I hope I can keep myself on track..
Hey Guys.. I just broke up with my boyfriend yesterdag.. We were together for two years. So I'm gonna drown myself in sorrow :). No, just wanted you to know that I wont be blogging for a while.. Thanks for understanding!
I'm a big fan off braids! They are fun, easy and beautifull! &with the summer coming up, you just have to practice something more original. That's why I went looking for you guys. Have fun!
Yes, Taylor Swift is doing them too!
If you can tell me how to do something like this, I'll love you forever!
My favourite, the fishtail braid! Love love love, but I'm still practising! A great tutorial for you guys:
I still have loads of ideas to show you, so keep yourself posted with Bloglovin!
Hi guys. I'm very sorry I'm not posting that much lately. I'm very busy with school, amongst other things. Exams are coming up and every professor wants another paper of a presentation of one. Tomorrow I have the deadline for my paper of anthropology & a presentation of my paper about the concept of culture. Therefore the silence. I hope you guys didn't lose interest, because there is loads of fantastic stuff coming up! I've got so many ideas! Follow me through Bloglovin!
I've noticed that there's alot of interest in my publication about the Border Nails or Outline Nails. That's why I decided to give you some more inspiration on that!
Try them with different matching colour!
Of with a different colour of outline!
After some research, I've found out that you just polish your nails in the colour you like. Then you use a nail art pen to draw the outside borders! You can do it the other way around aswell: so paint the outside borders and then colour inside them. But that way seems harder! Don't forget to seal with a topcoat!
&I'll ask a friend of mine, who's a nailexpert, to try some different styles on me! So keep yourself updated! Best way to do that is with bloglovin!
And let me know when you've tried it!
Short, little story about the past weekend, so you don't have to stay waiting :). We went BBQ-ing, on saturday, with a couple of his best friends (our couple-friends). I enjoyed it, allthough I'm (a bit) on a diet, so I can wear that bikini this summer with pride! That afternoon, we went to these friends' place to give a hand with the preparations. We didn't do that much do, at least, I didn't. It turned out this way: my boyfriend made beer with his guy-friend. Which should be ready next weekend!
&Me and the girl-friend had a lazy afternoon watching movies on the sofa! Loved it! I saw Sex and the City 2 for the first time! And MAN, I want a black diamond ring! They are so pretty and quite unique aswell! But keep it to yourselves ;), it mustn't become to popular, or it will lose its uniqueness! Here are some examples! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
I've just seen my statistics from this weekend. & I have noticed that there are a few Russian friends who view my blog :)! Just want to say: thanks for the interest!
I had a busy weekend and I'm really tired. I had a couple of rough nights with little sleep, so I'm gonna tell you all about tomorrow! Looking forward to it! (But I will probably need loads of coffee and cigarettes!)
I'm no good with nailpolish, but I'm in love with this new trend! The Border Nails, or Outline Nails! I just googled some pictures for you guys, so you can see for yourself. I think the best ones are the white with the black outline! Love love love!
We can't see it, because of the rain today. But yes, it's May! That means birds start singing and summer is comming up! Time to revise our wardrobe and chek out the last trends. My favorite for this summer is the flappers (the modern woman from the golden twenties) trend! Some inspiration from that wonderfull time!
Louise Brooks! (for more ispiration, just google her name!)
Today, the first of May, is Labour Day in a lot of countries! So I wish you all a very happy Labour Day! My outfit for today wasn't red, but with my Scarlet-red hair & my lovely red lipstick, I made up for it!
Because my mum is a member of the socialist party, I went home today. My mum was wearing a red dress & my dad was looking handsome as well!
Nevertheless, I ain't got any pictures (that look like they should be online), so I'll give you some inspiration for next year's Labour Day! Some wearable red clothes, to be proud of (if your very confident, that is)! Maybe I should throw a gala next year!
